Default 99 Honda Accord EX 3.0 crankshaft position sensor

I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX 3.0 V-6 and I need to know where the crankshaft position sensor is located and how big of a job to change it out> Thanks in advance to anyone who replies to my post.

It's at the crankshaft pulley, but I don't know how big of a job it is. I think the crankshaft pulley has to be removed which is a real pain in a 4-cyl (probably also a pain in the V6).

I'm moving this to General Tech because the DIY section is for complete instructions (not questions).

I think so too, It'll be located behind the timing cover next to the crank, behind the lower pulley. The hard part will be getting the crank bolt out so you can take it apart. That bolt is torqued to 150 ftlbs. The Zone and others sell/rent a pulley tool for about 50 bucks to hold the crank in position so you can get the bolt out. I bought one a couple of years ago, and have used it about 6 times now.

It's really not that hard of a job if u have the right tools an even if u dont don't it's not too bad on a v6 u need ti remove the tire, both the serpentine/alternator and the power steering belts, the harmonic balancer and the lower timing belt cover and it should be right there. If you dont have the special tool to remove the harmonic balancer bolt get a long breaker bar an right size socket put it on there where it will hit the ground as u turn the key do not start car just crank it real quick enough to break the bolt loose. Hope this helps 😀
