Default ABS light stays on !

1994 Honda Accord EX, manual transmission, 189000 miles.

Drives well. I was out of country for one month. Had problem shifting into 1st gear initially, but it is solved automatically. BUT... the ABS light STAYS ON ! It is annoying, although the brakes work very well. Do I need to bleed them or refill the brake fluid or anything?

Any inputs appreciated.

Thanks

check the brake fluid level first, if that's fine then take the car out to autozone or somewhere and have them read the code for you (autozone does it for free....) and let us know what error code you're getting....

most likely it will be a wheel sensor that has quit working.........this is by FAR the most common failure for ABS brakes.....

On 94-97 accords the most common reason for the abs light to come on is from low fluid level. A code 1 would be stored.

I bled the brakes last weekend with the help of a friend of mine. Then we topped up the brake fluid. The ABS light is still ON... and autozone ppl say that they wont read the code for me since they do it only for check engine light and anything above that....

Please help me !!

Thanks

Wow, that sucks. Try to find a shop that will read the code for free or for a small fee

if it is a 94 no need for that. all he has to do is jump the sc ( service connector ) rt side dash below glove box 2 wires .. put key on and count the flashes on the instrument cluster ABS LITE
