AC not blowing cold

New Member here...2003 Accord EX w/ 27K miles. Turned on AC for the first time in a while and it is not blowing cold. Looked thru the site today for some I ideas and I can see that the compressor enagages for few seconds and then shuts off. The hi and lo lines are neither hot nor cold. Any input is appreciated.

honestly,, the first thing i would do is call your local Honda dealer ,, being such low miles and barely over 3 years , it will give you warranty consideration ..they might fix it totally for free or just charge you a smaller amount

when the compressor cycles off and on frequently it is usually a case of low charge in the system. there is most likley a leak in the system and probably on the low pressure side. prob still under warranty dealer will most likley use dye to detect the leak.

Compressor can also cycle on/off due to partial blockage of the expansion valve. High side pressure rises rapidly and hi-pressure cut-out switch opens clutch coil to protect compressor from overpressure. Pressure equalizes and compressor re-engages. Only way to know for sure is w/ a set of manifold gauges. Best investment any Diy'r can make. I still have the first set of R12 gauges I bought over 25 yrs ago. Too bad I don't have any R12 cars any more. I sold my 90 Accord over a year ago,...to my regret. A decent set of R134 gauges can be purchased for <$50 usually on ebay and will last a lifetime.

good luck

i would guess that if it is anything other than a hole in the condensor, they would most likely fix it for you. IF it is a hole in the condensor, you are pretty much on your own.
