Default Motor mounts

I have a 2004 4 door v6 accord with about 165k miles. My engine makes a clack when I start going forward or reverse and I give it some gas, so I know the motor mounts are on the way out. 1. Besides increased vibration is it a big deal to change the motor mounts? If it'll just make a clack noise and vibrate more but not hurt the car otherwise I'd rather just leave the motor mounts alone. 2. If I really should change them out, about how long of a job is it to do?

I don't know much about how big a job it is on the V-6.

Since it's allowing the engine to move around more than it should, that in turn could lead to problems like exhaust leaks because the flex-piece is flexing more than its designed for. Or anything else that might be affected by the engine moving around more than it should.

If it's just a "clack" you'll have to see whether that's the axles (CV joints) making the noise...

I just did the motor mounts on my TL (which is the effective twin of the 2004 Accord V6), and I can tell you it is a pretty big job.

By a big job, like about how many hours are we talking about?

I cannot tell you exactly if you do just the motor mounts; I did my clutch (which required the engine to be supported from above and then the sub-frame to be dropped) at the same time as the mounts, and that makes the job easier. I'm guessing it took roughly a half hour per mount on average (the manual transmissions have six mounts, I suspect your car is an automatic and has five mounts), if you don't drop the sub-frame, I have heard it can take over an hour per mount.
