Does the check engine light come on while driving?

Are the maintenance items up to date, like spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, etc?

What happens when you try to start it? Does the starter turn the engine?

If you have a timing light, then you can hook it up to each spark plug wire and see if you generate enough spark to flash the timing light.

the motor seems to being cranking fast enough to start i just did a tune up on it like oil filter plugs and wires. and no the check engine light is not on at all

Do you mean the spring that connects the coil to the distributor cap?

If so, the new cap should have come with one.

91accord091 Oct 14, 2009 06:04 PM

Here is the parts blowup for your distributor cap. #21 includes the cap, o-ring (also #15), and the spring. Maybe pick up a distributor cap at a dealership for ~$20.
