Accord Locked Out!
 
I left the keys inside so I called Triple AAA and they were able to put some high tech tools through the window and open my car, the tool looked like a blood pressure test system. Anyone know what that is?

they used an air bladder to pry the door open at the top so they could insert a tool to hit the power lock button. most places do not use slim jims anymore becuase if the liability issues involved (busted power locks)

aha...so what does the air bladder actually do? it was amazing...........it did not damage

It basically pryed the door away from the frame to open a gap to insert that tool in there.

what does that do, pressure on windows? possible damage?

It distributes the force over a wider span than a crowbar would, so there is no damage due to blunt force in one area.

Hide-a-key in a velcroed pouch on the car is an easy solution for the next time.

This is actually a concern of mine. On the newer Honda's, when you press 'unlock' on the remote and you do not open the door within 30 seconds, the doors relock. Even if you open the trunk, the doors will still relock. If for some reason you put something in the trunk and place your keys in there without thinking (maybe in the pocket of your jacket when you put your jacket in the trunk) and the doors relock, you are locked out of the car when you close the trunk. I went to Honda today to see if it can be changed and they said it could not. Their suggestion was a hide-a-key, and use your valet key. You need to use a velcroed version because the others are held onto the car with a magnet and our newer keys can not be near magnets. Besides, there are not many spots on the car that are easily accessable and are metal any more.
