Accord tick over

Hi again

Since my last visit the car has been fine but due to changing the battery I have a return of the problem.

Cold weather and leaving the flashers on at the emergency dept; of the hospital ruined the battery (over 4 years old) Christmas eve I sought a new battery and fitted it thus resoving my starting problem. Pity that once the engine is warm, the revs that are 1200 or so, drop to zero unless I use the accelerator to keep them up. Normal tick over is 750 approx.

Stopping at lights is a problem; by the time I break with clutch, the engine has dropped to zero revs and needs to be started again. Runs fine on the road.

Is it the engine management computer do you think?

Thanks

John

Hi folks

In case it helps, it neede a quick check on the diagnostic computer at the local garage to sort out the problem. No idea why the thing went wrong by changing the battery, but maybe 3 hours was too long a time for the settings to be remembered by the system.

We are running again.

That could be ignition failure. Honda had a recall on that, check with the dealer see if they will cover that.

good luck
