Air-conditioning Isssue

Hi all,

I went on 2-hour drive last weekend and realized that the A/C was not blowing cold. I have '94 Accord that I bought a couple weeks ago. I drive it everyday, but not for that long .... Well, the a/c usually works ok.. but since I never drove the car for that long, I dont know whether it never works or it did not work welll due to long driving. Does this problem indicate malfunctioning A/C or lack of coolent or anything else ? This is my first car so I dont know much about automobiles. Please help ! Thanks in advance !

ALSO, since the a/c was cooling the car, we had it on level 4, the maximum setting. and after arriving at the destination when I parked the car, I noticed that water was dripping from underneath the car, from front siide. Was that a leak or was it due to a/c ?

you need to chk the air vwent output,,

start the car up, close all doors and windows, put fan speed on # 2 , knob all the way to cold, .. button on rec not fresh air,
stick a thermometer in the center air vents and walk away for 15 minutes

outler temp should be around low to mid 40s ,, if all is working well...
also keep in mind that higher ambient temp and humidity will effect how cools a/c gets down to..

if a/c is in the 50s . first off chk the heater control valve adjtment, make sure that valve is closed all the way when knob is on cold..
if it is ok.. you might be low on freon, which means that , there could be a leak in the a/c system

Take it to a shop preferably one that specializes on Hondas or the Dealer and have them, do an a/c service and add some fluorescent dye .. it wil help to locate leaks if there is one .

the water you see dripping out , it is NORMAL .. it is the condensation that comes out of the evap drain tube.....the higher the humidity the more water you will see.

And on the final note,, you will get better cooling if you put a/c on rec and fan speed on 1 ro 2
