airbag crash sensor

Hey I have a 2006 accord lx, putting on fog lights I messed up wires going to crash sensor. The connector broke. I took it honda they want to put a new harness in for 700$, they can't get a new connector. I got one from junkyard but the colors are both brown with a little silver dot on both. The wires are the same color on the harness. My question is does it matter what wire goes to what or it doesnt matter.

Odd, the diagram I have shows the colors being different. However there is a footnote the wires marked with "*" can be BLU or BRN?

Sorry, best I have. I guess you could go from the pins on the srs to be sure.

Yea thats the same diagram Honda had for it, but my colors don't match up with it. Honda said even if I got a new connector they would not splice it together I need to get a whole new harness, so I guess Im stuck with doing it myself. I have a 50/50 chance of doing it right. I just wonder if it does not matter which goes to which. If its a closed loop circut it shouldent, but I don't want to risk the airbag going off. My only other option is to take it to an auto electric place but they will probably say they don't want to be liable either.

Yea, I'm not sure about the splice either???

Hoping someone with more understanding of the air bag system will chime in.

My TSX shop manual has the wire colors as both being brown.

Is your check engine light turning on since the impact sensor is disconnected?

No just my airbag light is on.

I think that the srs system has to be able to tell using other sensors that the car was not in an accident. It can't rely on just that sensor to trip the air bags.

I would turn on the key and measure for voltage to each of the brown wires. I'm not sure if it will have 12V or 5V.

If you find that one wire has voltage:
The passenger and driver's sensors are the same sensor. I would unplug the passenger side sensor. Measure the voltage on each pin. Then you will be able to wire up the driver's sensor the same way.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks guys for your help. I went ahead and hooked it up but still had light on dashboard, so I watch a couple of u-tube videos and learned how to reset it, and thank god it worked the accord v-6 is back to being 100%, once again thanks for helping.:):):):)
