Default antenna mast busted..

my 1990 EX has a semi busted antenna. Goes half way up and makes tons of noise. I see plenty of new masts on ebay. Thinking that it is not a difficult fix. Anybody out there fix this before???

If the mast is busted then youre better off getting an OEM part from a junkyard. I use eBay for alot of things but trust me, this is not one of them. The antenna will work for a couple of days and then get stuck on you yet again. I decided to forget the antenna completely since I use an mp3 player instead of the radio and lowered the mast and unplugged the motor. I speak from experience.

it is easy to fix,,,,,,get a mast from dealer around 50 dollars,........you might have to remove the motor to remove a small piece of mast that at times bearks and stays inside the motor,,,,,,

remove the nut on the fender,, have someone put radio on while u pull on the mast this will uninstall mast,, look at the bottom of the old mast see if some teeth are missing compare it to new mast,, if so,, remove the clips on the inner panel, remove antenna wire and plug, losen the 10mm bolt the holds bracket and remove motor from car,,,,,now look at the back cover there are 2 philip screws remove those, remove cover u will see a plastic cover, pull up on it , it comes off real easy , remove boken antenna piece ,, put all together ..........after reinstalling motor, have someone put radio on, install mast in motor while they shut radio off this will pull the mast down ,,once down reinstall the nut on the fender ..........by ther way watch how the teeth part are facing and instal new mast same way
