I wrote a couple of weeks ago about my 3 passenger windows failing. Advise I received back included a possible grounding issue in the Master Switch, possible window locking switch failure, etc. I believe that the problem is in the window locking switch, because with the switch turned off, when I hit the window buttons on the Master Switch for the other three windows, I get clicking in each respective window switch in each door. It, therefore, appears that each door switch is getting power to it. My question is, is there a way to disconnect the window locking switch (since I don't use it anyway), or do I need to replace the entire Master Switch. Also, can anyone comment on the ease or difficulty of removing the door panel to get at the Master Switch, including any tips for removing it? Thanks very much!

I don't see anything in the diagrams about by-passing the lock out.

Switch replacement is not that hard, I don't think the whole door panel comes off, just the switch.....do you have a two or four door?

 

Try this reset procedure (credit goes to Justinsbg, a Honda tech/electrical specialist/etc.) to see if anything changes. If not, then usually the master switch (which includes the multiplex) needs to be replaced.

"Remove both battery cables (making sure you have your radio code handy after you install the cables) and touch them together for about 5 minutes. Keep in mind that you're not touching the battery posts together, just the cables. A jumper wire is best used for this purpose. This will drain any residual power retained by electrical components--a resetting of sorts. In weird circumstances like that it's always the first thing I will do before any other electrical troubleshooting."
