Battery keeps dying
 

Well, i've been having trouble with this for a little while now and i probably should've taken care of it sooner :o

I have a 93 accord, and my battery keeps dying on me. For instance a few weeks back i got a jump, and the car starts right up and im able to drive it all over. Take it to get the battery load tested they say it needs a charge. They charge it, it tests good. So i drive it around for a week with no issues, then one morning this week it was basically drained again. Same deal take it to get it tested and it needs a charge then tests good. So i tested the alternator looks like ~13.5 at idle. ~11.8 with lights and blower running. Tested amperage draw and there was none well basically none .01 amps which i believe to be normal. So the only thing i can think is the alternator is just barely putting out enough power to keep the car going but not to charge the battery.

Also if anyone knows how to bench the alternator fully while on the car that'd be awesome as tonight it's supposed to snow a little and i really don't feel like taking it out to have it bench tested. Thanks in advance. :D

Maybe places like AutoZone can load-test the alternator?

Yeah, i mean im just trying to avoid taking it off to have them test it. It's snowing out right now. I may just buy one.

Although I have a 2004, I would say you've already proved your point. Normally it's about 14 v when the alternator is working properly. I also found this interesting tidbit from an ehow article
