Brake Lamp Question
I have 94 Accord LX that the dash indicator light for a blown tail light will co on when its cold outside, about 45 deg or lower. Once the car warms up I can shut the car off then start again and the light will not re illuminate. This is not the park brake/ low fluid indicator. Any ideas?

Park the rear before a reflective surface (white garage door will work) so you can see if the brake light is working or not in those two scenarios. Or ask someone to observe it.
I got the brake light notice a couple weeks ago on my '92 and replaced two bulbs. One bulb was out and one looking bad - almost like they'd been in there a long time / original issue? |

That warning lamp comes from a module that compares the wattage from side-to-side. If one side has more corrosion in the socket, or a bulb that is starting to go bad but still lights up, the wattage will be different and set off the warning lamp. So check & clean both sides, & maybe put new bulbs in both sides so they match.
It could also come from corrosion or loose connection at the little module that does the comparing. I think it's in one of the lamp clusters, but I don't remember which side for 1994. |
Thank you. I will check that this evening.
