Timing

If your car isn't idleing properly, it may be the engine's timing. Unfortunately I couldn't even begin to tell you how to check the timing yourself. The only I could reccomend is to take it to a shop. If you don't want to take it to a Honda dealer, look in the phonebook for a repair shop that just specializes in Honda and Acura.

Your problem can be due to weak fuel pressure or a weak spark. Also a timing belt that jumped off time can cause this.

If the maintenance items like the spark plugs, distributor cap, and distributor rotor close to being due for replacement, then I would change them to eliminate those as the cause of your problem.

weird thing is, that after my tech couldnt find anything to make it to be able to idle. he parked it on the lot for me to take it to the dealer, because you can actually drive the car when you start it, just by keeping one foot on gas and the other on brake. so one day later i started the car and drove away like nothing happened at all. i have been driving it since.
one thing i can say, is that since i changed the alternator, the warning lights flash just for a second every so often when I slow down. For example when I'm driving on the highway and get off at an exit, as I'm slowing down, the warning lights flash. As of right now the car idles fine and everything is smooth.
