car starts but not holding charge please look

check for continuity from the B power terminal on the alternator to the + battery post

I did that and it has 12 volts

since youre checking on the same wire you shouldnt get voltage

this is a test for continuity

actually nevermind...given your voltages it appears to be charging ... looks like the battery isnt holding a charge

So I should replace the battery, now if I replace that amd it still happens then what? And it only drains when the car is running and not when the car is off, now that still the battery

why would the battery drain while it sits ? if u dont believe me take it somewhere where they will test it

No I believe you just a battery is like 90 bucks but ill replace and hopefully it goes away, it just when my car battery is drain completely when I start my car is comes straight back to 12 volts. But ill replace it and get back to you

after driving your car for a bit and turn it off it should be atleast 12.70

Yeah I cant drive my car Bec its draining to fast, It like my ecu not telling my alternator not to charge or something. And its not a really slow drain where I can drive it, its like I charge my battery and then 30 minutes later my car wont turn over again

Something doesn't seem right in your post, so lets take a step back and make sure we didn't miss something simple.

When you start the car, you say the battery dies. Does the engine stall out? Tell us what is happening.

When you normally turn the key to start the engine, the starter turns the engine. When the engine fires up (runs on its own) you release the key.

When you try to restart the car, is the starter turning the engine, or is the engine not firing up? Do you have to recharge or jump start the battery?
