carb leaking gas

sorry I posted this in the wrong section. I have an 88 Accord LX that is leaking gas at the top where the fuel line attaches. It is coming up through the screw no matter where I set the screw. I see the float is attached underneath, so I am assuming that somehow that is the problem. Usually I work on air cooled VW's but love a repair challenge. If anyone has any info on how this can be stopped I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Got your PM's

That screw with the yellow paint on it is the float level adjustment

As I said in the PM. The top "plate/cover" of the carb is going to have to come off. Either the float has a hole in it and "not floating/sinking" or the needle and seat is just worn out and needs replacing. Not too bad of a job, did this on the 87 LX I use to own about 2~3 years ago.

If the float is ok, I can guide you thru changing the needle and seat without removing the float....that pin it pivots on can be PAIN to remove.

Or, you can try a junk yard and see what they have for a carb or just that top plate/cover. Places like car-part dot com let you search locally.

I'll go check on it and see what the float looks like, then I will know what I am up against lol. Have a good vacation!

I'm trying to enjoy. Still checking in when I can, so yes I will be hit or miss for the next few days.
