carb replacement on 88 A20A1 accord
 

im looking at putting a holley 5200 2 barrel carb on my 88 accord a20a1. my question is how many of thoses damn vacuum lines can i get rid of ?? and is this going to be a difficult swap ?? i want to get rid of as many vacuum lines as possible ..... i do not have emmissions testing in my area. also does anyone have any comments on Colt cams stage 2 cam ??? thanx for all the feed back

The members on here share their knowledge about the cars that they're familiar with. Personally I've never owned an A-series engine, so I don't want to give you any WRONG information.

You may want to relax, the car is 22 years old!! And the other thing is why do you want to put a cam into a 90hp motor? Can the rest of the vehicle handle it?
I don't think the trans can.
I own an 1988 accord LX with a carb. I am not sure the vacuum line layout to be able to give you an idea. You could do an educated guess and start capping them to see what happens.

Actually believe or not , we know quite a bit about older accords...but i am not so sure that anyone is going to help someone with an attitude like yours .

why not dish out some money and take it to a shop that knows how to fix it

You mainly need to be concerned with the vacuum line to the flux capacitor. It is a braided line like the fuel lines they used back then and is necessary to generate the 1.21 gigawatts to get back to 1988. I believe there is more to it but you will have to watch the movie.

All kidding aside, if want to remove the emission control devices you will want to get ride the computer system also. Way back when which is what you are basically doing you had a vacuum line to the distributor advance and PCV. I won’t advise you on removing emission control devices.

So what I've done is ripped out the vacuum computer and carb, and replaced it with a 2 barrel mechanical seconary weber. U will need an adapter plate, find the vacuum advancen for the distributor and run it to the vaccum port on the carb, and plug the unused ports on the manifold. I think I got it from redline... Those webers are cake to tune and rebuild. Depending on your compression ratio, u may need to add a fuel shut off so it won't diesel.
