CD/Radio

For a few years now, this AM/FM/CD Stereo is not working smooth. It takes a good 8 to 10 times pushing in the CD until it finally connects.

This isn't a big deal as long as I'm listening to talk radio. But now I'm back playing in the band and drive time is the best time for learning songs.

Is it time to get a new AM/FM/CD? Or is there any low cost adjustment that might help me with this CD player?

The Accord is a 2001 LX with a 2.2L 4 cylinder 5 speed. I'm getting 25 mpg (23 in the winter) in the Cleveland area - doing the I 480/I 271 freeway jam. The only modification is the Photoblocker paint on the plates for those intermittent missions past the speed cameras. But this web site is getting me interested in some different ways to keep this car fresh. It has 110,000 miles, a new timing belt, and none of the 5 year issuesI've seen with previous Fords/GM's. I'm not ready to sell it anytime soon.

RE: CD/Radio

It all depends on what you want to spend to fix it. You can always buy a new one, ebay, or junk yards can also be good sources of used car parts.

I had the volume button go out on my stock radio. I took it to a shop that repairs electronics. They charged me ~$60 to repair the switch. I'm sure there is some place around Cleveland that can handle that kind of repair. Just ask them what they will charge.
