Center Console Causes Cramping

Can I be the only one who finds the center console box too high when driving a stick shift. My elbow has no other place to rest beside sitting on top on the console box when driving and shifting. This is gonna sound like a rant (it is), but my right shoulder is always lifted awkwardly while driving thus causing some my muscles to tighten and cramp and so forth. I've tried raising and lowering my seat, but nothing helps. I'm ordering a short shifter, that may help lower my hand a bit.

Is there a replacement for the center console that is flush to the plane to the bottom of the shifter? any suggestions. .. Dayum my shoulder hurts.,
