Changing Alternator - need help

I've ran into a frustrating obstacle in an otherwise easy job. Do any of you know some easy way to get the bottom alternator bolt out? It's crammed in there pretty well. I can't get a wrench to function in the space provided. Is there a special type of wrench I should use, or a special angle to come in from? Also, since I haven't really been able to tell, is it a 14mm or a 13mm? The top one was 14, but it felt like the 14 was too big on the bottom one. I appreciate any ideas...I can't believe what a headache one little bolt can be.

Can you get a socket extention in there? Like an extention you would use to change your plugs? Have you tried any non-metric(standard) sizes in case the alternator has been changed out before and some mechanic installed a non-metric nut?
Sorry, I haven't changed an alternator on either ofmy Hondas yet (knocking on wood right now.) But I changed one not too long ago on my Mustang.

That bottom bolt is a 12mm;I have a SEMI-DEEP socket for that. I've also used a short offset box end for that.

It can be a real pain to get just right amount of reach between the body, drive belt, and the nut. I've used 1/4" ratchet w/ stepup adapter and 12mm-3/8" drive socket to have just right amount of reach. If you've managed to round the nut, a sears damaged nut socket will do the job, but you may have to remove the PS drive belt to access.

good luck
