changing lower ball joints on 6th gen
Hey this is my first post. But that's irrelevant.
I got a 2000 accord coupe and I'm trying to change my lower ball joints, I already have the new ones I just wanted a little more info before I start. I know there is a tsb for my vehicle saying that if the lower's have never been replaced then I have to replace a few components but the new ball joints I have come with a snap ring, so to get out my old ones do I have to press them out or is it as easy as removing a snap ring.? And would I have to press in the new one aswell.? |
Welcome to the forum. These type of help questions should generally be in the General Tech Help section.
If the old one has a snap ring, you have to remove it first before hammering it out. You can use a hammer to hit the stud of the ball joint squarely. After several hits, it should come out. To put it back in, you can use a ball joint press to put it in or do what this guy did in this video.
