check engine

I have a 93 accord automatic, the check engine light came on last night and now this morning the indicator light around the D4 on dash keeps flashing???? car doesnt seem to run any different. was hard to start in morning but it was 20 degrees out..

which indicator light? what icon does it show? take the car to autozone and they will check the ecu for any bad reading or any code it's showing... and the best part... IT'S FREE!!!

Autozone can only get codes from 96+ accords.

For your 93, there is a blue two-pin service connector that sits behind the passenger kick panel. You short that connector with some wire or a thin paperclip. Turn the key to the II position, and count the check engine light flashes and/or the D4 light flashes. The CEL shows engine computer codes and D4 shows trans computer codes.

A long flash = 10, short =1.

So L L L S S S =43

wow... now that's a new one...

All cars sold in the US starting in 1996 had to have a standard OBD2 plug.

All 96+ vehicles can have their codes read by the same obd2 scanner.
