Default check engine light coming on

hey guys i have a 90 honda accord and i swapped a 92 JDM h22a into it.
the check engine light came on and it was misfiring so i changed the spark plugs, wires, distributer cap, and rotor. My timing is also off and i dont know if the check engine light came on because of that or because of the misfiring. What are some ways to find out and if you have any ideas please get back to me.

Look in the DIY section. There is a bost that shows where to access the trouble codes. Find the code and post here as stated above.

That sounds like a question for DH or someone with a H22A.

Yeah, that sounds like a question for deserthonda, hondadude, chiovnica (all 3 are honda techs), shadow, or velocifero(both have h22s)

You may want to start a new thread entitled "How do I adjust the timing on an H22?"

Use a timing light and set it to the red mark.

Use a timing light and set it to the red mark.
make sure that the timing lite is set at ZERO , warm up engine to normal temp,, normal idle 700-800 rpm . set at red mark like Chio said

your gonna need an OBD2 reader to find out the code. the plug is located behind the ashtray under the radio. after that you can just google the code and it will show you the problem.
