Check engine light question?

When I start my car the check engine light will flash about 10 or so times before going off.I have never noticed this before. Is it normal?It does not stay on so I dont know if it is giving a code but it bothers me.

Oh and yeah my sig is not working but I drive a 1998 LX I4 M5 with 185000

It's normal, it means your nearing your next indicated service interval. Soon it will just come on and stay on until its reset.
