Check engine prob

im new to this forum this is for anyone that can help me.i just modified my 96 honda acorrd LX 4door with a 98 prelude transmition the car runs fine but the check engine light will not come off & i cant get it to smog i took it to a shop but no one can not fix it. is there a way to bypass the check engine light so that i can get it smoged or does anyone know of someone that can force smog it in san francisco.

do u know what the code is? perhaps you just left something unplugged when installing the transmission? i'd find out what the code is and fix it. Best way to turn the light off :)
