Chirping when letting off the throttle

Hey Yall,

When Im driving my accord 98 lx automatic 4cylinder it makes a chirping sound when shifting gears and gets into the higher gear. It also makes the chirping sound when im in neutral and let off of the gas peddle after revving the motor above 3k rpms. So my guess is its misfiring or something once im letting off the gas or get into gear. Also my car idles really rough when I run the A/C. I just don't want my timing belt to go out on me. Does it sound like my problem is a misfire or is it some type of solenoid or pulley that ties into the throttle position?

FYI.. i put new plugs and wires on and no difference. has 185k miles. seafoamed the intake once. used a pipe cleaner to try to get the EGR intake port without taking the intake apart as a lil preventative maintence. I use it for city driving mostly. Going about 7 miles each way to and from work. I did have the o2 sensor CEL, I replaced it and it did not go away.

Thanks
WW

Better served in the Gen Tech section.

Are you sure it is not a belt "chirp"....you can remove the belt(s) to test this. Also while they are off check all of the pulleys.

When the ac is on, do you feel it or is it seen in the RPM's? Feel, could be mounts. RPM's could be a sign of either the IAC or TB needing a good cleaning.

Last, what is the exact code (P and four digits - P0420) you are getting?
