Clicking noise continues after turn signals shut off

On my '92, whenever I use the turn signals, there is a clicking noise that occurs after the turn signals are shut off. If I push on the turn signal lever, sometimes I can get the clicking to stop, so it doesn't sound like some kind of relay or anything--maybe a loose connection, but I'm not sure where to begin with this. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Is it the same clicking sound that the turn signal makes? Where is the sound coming from?

Not quite the same...a little faster and seems to be coming from inside the steering column...I think.

I would remove the turn signal switch and clean it out. The grease can get dirty over time. Replace with fresh dielectric grease.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot.
