Code 9 cyl sensor

Another prob with my 95 f22b1

I just replaced the distributor thought I fixed the problem.

Now its back again. Throwing a code 9.

On start up right after it starts up, sounds like it's not getting enough fuel or spark and it chugs. The CEL comes on and it smooths back out.

I replaced the
fuel filter
Dizzy cap and rotor
The whole dizzy
New plugs

I don't know what else to replace.

I've heard of the main relay going out but would that cause a code 9?

At autozone they don't have a relay labeled "main relay"

The cause of Code 9 is a circuit fault in the CYP sensor circuit. It could be sensor (unlikely since new distributor), connector, wiring, or ECU.

I had same problem w/ same path you've taken (replacement distributor). I check CYP sensor resistance at the ECU/harness connector and got same results (good sensor resistance) as other locations. I replaced ECU to fix problem.

Suggest checking sensor resistance (700-1300 ohms) from ECU/Harness connector under passenger side foot area. If it checks good, then ECU is likely (ebay or car-part.com for used ECU). If resistance checks faulty, then you have to find short or open in the wiring/connectors.

good luck

What about main relay? Would that cause these problems?

Whats the part number for replacement at autozone, napa, etc

Main relay will not cause a code 9 IMO.

Check their website for main fuel relay part no.

good luck

Also there was a remote start system left on the car, half uninstalled. The left all the wIring and its all hanging out from under driver side dash. They had some wire spliced into one of the distributor harnesses but that has been replaced now.

Could that be my problem?

Unlikely. If someone damaged CYP sensor wiring, this could cause code 9. See previous posts to test.

good luck
