Cold air only on passenger side 2007 Accord EX

Before you ask, of course I checked the obvious with the Dual Zone setting.

The air conditioner on my 2007 Honda Accord EX-L is only blowing cold air on the passenger side vents. The blower motor is working fine on driver side, but it won't blow out cold air-conditioned air.

I read on another forum someone having the same problem with their 2006, but no solution was posted.

Anyone have any thoughts on problem? Thanks in advance.

(I'm starting to get disappointed in the little problems I'm having with Honda. The master switch went out on this car early and passenger windows wouldn't roll down. I've owned 2 other Hondas in past and had peculiar problems with them too. My wife drives Toyotas and never had the weird issues I've had with Hondas.)

I've heard it might be related to low refrigerant charge, but I don't know the details.

I would first check the pressures on the high and low side to see if you are losing R134a.

I appreciate your replies, I confess I don't know anything about AC systems, that would however been the last thing I would guess because one side does blow cold air. I would assume each side would need it's own AC system for the R134 to be the cause, but I will have it checked.

If the charge is low, then the air blowing through the vent will not get cooled efficiently. The passenger side is closer to the a/c evaporator, so the air on that side will be colder.

There are other things that could cause this to happen. Checking the charge on the system is the easiest thing to check, so do that first.

Another easy thing to check is if the heat is working on both sides of the car. If it is not, then something mechanical is likely not diverting the air properly.

Have you checked the vent ducting?

(On the bright side, at least you gas pedal isn't sticking)

Any updates on this problem.... I am also having same problem, I have 07 Honda Accord LX. I took the car to a Honda deleaer and they said they will try and recharge the gas, but a local honda service shop does not believe this is the right cause, he gave me a printout from their database indicating that these honda accords might have faulty evaporator cores. Any suggestion in this regard would be helpful

Thanks

"Gul" - I deleted the other posts you had about this. No need for posting in multiple threads for the same issue....it gets confusing.

Check for HVAC codes, there is a how to in the "Common DIY and Info Threads" sticky at the top of this section.

Have you tested the system pressures (high and low)?

Low refrigerant. Had mine recharged and haven't had issue since I made this post 3 years ago.
