Default Are the coolants the same/compatible

Okay, guys. I have a 2011 Honda Accord and it uses Honda Long-life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2.

My sister is visiting and she has a 2004 Civic. I checked her manual and it recommends Honda All Season Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2.

I have some of my coolant on hand and was going to top hers off but I am wondering if they are the same thing, just a name change maybe?

Also, after opening up your coolant, how long does it stay good for? Is there a point where it shouldn't be used anymore?

Thanks for your help!

That is the same coolant.

I have some old bottles of type 2 coolant that I am not afraid to use that were opened. You may want to look at the coolant bottle to see if there is an expiration date.

Thanks for the quick reply, PAhonda!
