Corner lens Shortage
So im having a problem with my accords corner lens on the fender. it has a short in it and i thought it was because the wire was cut. i reconnected the wire changed all the bulbs and replaced the flasher. i still dont have turn signals and the corner lens isnt getting any power when i did a volt test on it. anyone know good places to start looking for a short in that wire?

Will you put the year model, etc of your accord in your signature.
That way your car's info will be available on every post you make and make life simpler for all of us. |
exact same as yours except mines 94
|
Ok. Just put that in your signature, and no one will have to ask again.
When you test for voltage, put the + lead of your volt meter on the non-black pin of the bulb socket and touch - lead any ground bolt (valve cover bolt, neg battery cable bolt, etc). Does your volt meter read 12V? |
thats the problem the bulb has no current but it used to work
|
I just wanted you to check that the + side of the circuit was not getting 12V.
If you stick both leads on each of the + and - pins to the bulb sockets and don't get 12V, then you don't know if there is a bad ground or no voltage. What side of the car is this happening on? Also, do all the other lights work on the front and back like the license plate lights, etc? |
Also, what happened that caused the wire to get cut in the first place?
|
this is only happening to one bulb and thats the driver side corner lens and what cut it i have no idea. i also kinda wonder if its the hazard relay itself that is built into the switch
|
Are all of your turn signal bulbs not working or just the turn signal bulb on the corner lens? Do all of the hazard lights work?
There is a second bulb on the corner lens that is for the parking lights. Is that one working? |
every bulb works and i dont have parking lamps i dont think because ive never seen them
