Default Cruise control fixed - FYI for those with problems.

So I finally had time to mess with the cruise control not working. Mine hasn't worked since I got this car. The dash light part of the switch was working but the "on" light in the switch would never come on, hence no cruise control. I was at our local U-Pull-It and picked up a control box and a switch. Got home, plugged the "new" box in - nothing. Oh well, was worth a shot, maybe that box is dead too. Tried the "new" switch - nothing. OK, well it's time to troubleshoot. I figured I'd start at the switch. I checked for continuity between posts A&B ("on" light bulb)- nothing. Hmmm, should always have it. Checked between ABC with the switch pushed in - nothing, as I would expect with AB not working. Checked D&E (dash light) and it was OK. So I grabbed my old switch and it was the same way. Looking at the schematic you can see that ABC will only work if the "on"light bulb isn't dead. So I took both switches apart and took the dash bulb from one and put it in as the "on" bulb in the other. Put the switch back together and put it back in. Went for a drive (have to be over 25MPH for it to turn on) and it works perectly. So if your cruise is dead at the switch, you will want to start there with your troubleshooting (after checking all fuses of course). Not sure if you can buy replacement bulbs, it looks like you probably ought to be able to as you don't have to take the switch apart to replace them.
