Cruise Control won't work in Cold weather

Just wondering if anyone has input for this....When its really cold out (like 10 degrees F or lower) my cruise light will come on when Set and everything appears normal but the speed will not hold. After driving for about a half hour when the engine compartment warms up real good it will start working again. I'm thinking maybe the actuator cable is getting sluggish when cold because the thing works great when its warm out- especially in the summer. (I also have the exact same problem on my 92 accord)

Intermittent cruise control 50 degree weather - Gen 5 accord

Hello

Looking to open this thread for any leads from experienced wrenches

These problems are typical of broken ground wires that contract when cold

Any experienced wrenches here with connection points to start?

Thanks

@How2 - What year of accord do you drive?

hello

Its a 1995.

btw I had the classic problem of the speedo bouncing around. The cruise control also worked intermittently until it finally conked out. When I replaced the speed sensor, the cruise control came back like magic. Now the cruise is doing the intermittent thing but only in cold weather.

Search the web for CD7_CD9.pdf. This is a shop manual for a 94 and is identical to a 95 accord. You should be able to download it for free.

Since several inputs has multiple inputs, it might be easier to test at the cruise control unit harness to see what is missing. Page 23-304 and 23-305 show the inputs. You'll have to unplug the control unit connector and use a volt meter to test the various inputs. Hopefully this will narrow down the problem.

Not that it'll be much help, but FWIW, My VSS going 'off' stopped my speedo working and of course also the CC. I tried replacing it myself, but without success, it's so hard to get to deep down there.
('93 Accord)
