Cylinder Sequence

I just replaced the spark plugs in my 2003 v-6 accord. Ran great the first night then it started misfiring and throwing codes. Does anyone know which cylinder is #1, etc on this engine?

I think I have a bad coil, but knowing which cylinder is which will certainly help de-bug the codes.

Thanks.

RE: Cylinder Sequence

Suggest going to autozone.com and using their online manuals to determine cylinder order on the engine. sorry I don't know the sequence.

Make sure you correctly connected coil/plug to sparkplug. Was it missing before spark plugs replaced? What plugs did you use?

good luck

RE: Cylinder Sequence

That's where I got the plugs so when I take them back tomorrow I'll check it out. Frankly, I think they gave me the wrong plugs. They gave me bosch +4 plugs because they matched the car in their computer and they didn't have Denso. After the problem started I checked the manual and I either need the Densos or NGK. I believe they stock the NGK so I plan on returning the bosch and getting the NGK.

Prior to this I had no issues, just 78k on the plugs and the 100k mark in the manual just seemed too ling for my preventive maintenance approach to things.

Hopefully the right plugs will solve the problem and didn't create anything new.

RE: Cylinder Sequence

Thought I'd come back with an update, just in case anyone else can use it.

The cylinders are number 1-2-3 on the back side of the engine, from left to right. On the front side, again from left to right, they are 4-5-6.

The firing sequence is from one bank to the other in this order: 1-4-2-5-3-6.

As for my issue that triggered this whole thing I've learned the only plugs that seem to work in this car are the NGK or Denso recommended in the manual. The bosch +4 fusions, or whatever theycalled them, that the parts store recommended were causing multiple misifres. I didn't think there was a big issue with the carbefore I changed the plugs so having a misfire on every cylinder didn't make sense. I picked up the NGKs and put them in. I still had a misfire, but only on one cylinder. I moved the coil, as I suspected this as the cause, and the misfire moved with it.

Bottom line, new coil is on the way and hopefully the problem is solved.

Thanks for coming back with the fix!

Bosch plugs and Hondas don't mix. They like NGKs best!
