Disable Auto-Off Lights? '07 EX-L

Subject pretty much says it. If I turn the parking lights on with the ignition off, I want them to stay on until I turn them off. Even if I exit the car. Even if I lock it! Nope, can't have it because the car shuts them off after like 15 seconds, a "helpful" "feature" to prevent dead batteries. Any way to bypass/disable it?

The parking lights and headlights are handled by a control unit, so it doesn't look like a simple bypass with wiring. Not sure if that can be enabled via Honda's HDS unit at a dealership. It can't hurt to call and ask.

Yeah, I figured my quarrel is with the MICU. I'll call a few dealer service departments and see what they say. Guessing the answer's "No", though. :-(

Hmmm I never tried it but I thought if I turned my lights on the manual setting they stay on? I'll have to try it tonight. Not sure why you want them to stay on but whatever I doubt very much any dealer will disable this for you. They'd probably be concerned you'd come running complaining the first time you accidentally drain your battery. They'll say it's a Honda thing or something that isn't supposed to be messed with.

He just wanted to keep the parking lights on, not the headlights.
