does dry ice really removes dents?
 

i heard dry ice fix dents and doesn't ruin the paint job is this really true?

I've seen a so called demonstration of this, and it only works on very light dents, that you could probably pull out with the windshield suction cup for your Garmin. One of those fix-a-dent things you glue on your car would work better, and they are not worth a dime, imo. Go to a paintless dent removal shop, and maybe they can get it out.

Wow some of the replys. It can pull out dents in metal when the metal is heated and cooled really fast it will contract and pull the dent out.

You can move metal with heat and removal of heat. Thermal stressses will generally make the metal move back toward original curvature. Don't expect miracles. Too much heat will damage paint

Seems like doing this is kind of a black art. Yes it works with some skill & practice. Yes you risk overheating & damaging the paint. It will NOT work if the damage includes any sharp creases in the metal.
