Door handle and door frame issues 1998 Coupe V6

Hey guys,

Fairly new to this forum, but I see a lot of helpful threads already. Just about a 1998 Coupe V6 :D Had a few issues on my car though and was hoping to work on them to get it fixed.

The passenger door won't open from the inside, have to roll the window down to open from the outside. Searching the forum, I see a few people have this issue...usually a broken cable inside? What 's the best way to go about fixing this? And how can I take the door panel off?

The other issue is my driver's door no longer opens properly either. I have to push quite hard from the inside for it to open. Sounds like the frame might be hanging lower than it should? Same from the outside, have to pull harder to get it open.

Thanks guys.

Read the posting rules. DIY forum is not for normal postings. Please observe.

This is usually a mechanical issue w/ the inside door handle assy or link rod that connects the handle to the door latch mechanism.

Remove door handle assy, 1 screw and pull the assy out. Important!, pull toward front of vehicle to release, as there's a lug that fits under the door panel on rear.

Door handle assy may be connected to the link rod w/ a securing plastic locking device that must be released to allow complete removal of door handle assy.

See youtube video "How To Install Replace Inside Door Handle Honda Accord 94-97 1AAuto.com"

good luck

This is an excerpt from the service manual:

Door being harder to open may be due to striker position or it may be loose. Also shown in excerpt.
