Door key stuck

1998 Accord.
When I tried to unlock the driver side door, the key got stuck and would not come back out. After a lot of jiggling and twisting, it finally came out.

I don't want to clean it or oil it, since that will only buy me time.
Any recommendations where to buy a replacement lock? I am talking about the part that you insert the key into.
I don't care if I have to use 2 keys (one to open the door, and the original key to start the car).

'Twer me I'd add 'Comprehensive Coverage' (theft, vandalism) to car insurance, it's cheap; and then get lock recommendation from local dealer's service / parts guy.

You can find it on RockAuto or eBay. They don't cost much

I looked on rock auto, I don't see anything there.

Is there actually a "lock" that you can replace the part that they key comes with it?
I dont want to replace the whole mechanism... just the aluminum part the key inserts into. My guess is that it is called a lock cylinder?

This is who I buy a lot of my parts because of the 10 year warranty. They have not failed me yet. they ship quick also. Get it while it's cheap. Lol

Thanks Sean! That's more like it!!

When I looked at Honda parts, that part was about $175!

Were they giving you a whole door for that price. LOL.

Agreed. WOW, you can buy a complete door from a junk yard for less than that. For that kind of money I'd pull the door handle out, and take the lock cylinder to a locksmith for rebuilding. He could even cut you a non-chipped key if you want.
