Default Dorman Universal wiper linkage bushing?

Has anyone tried to replace the bushings on existing wiper linkage? Dorman makes a "universal" bushing:

Dorman Universal Wiper Linkage Bushing - JCWhitney

It would make for a fairly inexpensive repair if these fit ...

Thanks. John

I had my bushing worn out , and I just replace the whole linkage transmission for 50$ (ebay) with free shipping.

I dont known how easy it is to press fit the bushing.

Let us known how it works out if you decide to replace the bushing .. !

After doing more research today, I'm going to bag on the bushings only idea ... that Dorman bushing could fit but it will take a lot of effort to find out.

Yeah, I saw new linkages for around $45 on eBay. But currently the only play in the system is from the wipers to the motor (not between the wipers), so I could just purchase the one link rod for $15-20 Question is ... which rod it is that goes to the motor? Rod Unit A or Rod Unit B?

I think it's A, 76540-SV4-003, but I'm not absolutely certain. Take the old part to the dealer parts dept to be sure; they might honor the online price if you take the printed price sheet in with you. After having the wipers fail in a downpour @70mph, I just replaced both of them.

I called Sons Honda this morning and the guy wasn't too helpful. His only response was "buy both links and you won't make a mistake".

So, for $40+ I instead ordered the complete aftermarket linkage unit from UTOYOTA ("Perfect Fit") in Canada.

I haven't heard from them before, but they seem to specialist in these mechanical replacement parts ... I'll keep my fingers crossed that the quality is good.

For 1/4 the cost of the OEM part I can change them out every few years if needed and I'll still be ahead

A quarter of the cost? Majestic shows the two rods total $48 list price, $33 their price.

Let us know how the new assembly holds up. It's a good alternative if it lasts.

Does Majestic ship for free? If not, add $10.

I mean a quarter the cost for a full linkage ... $180 at Sons

I would have paid $20 to replace the one link, combining shipping with the purchase of some other items ... but for the price of two links, knowing there were additional shaft bushings and grooved wiper arm posts to also go bad, might as well replace it all.

I'll hang onto the OEM unit for a while until I'm satisfied that the aftermarket unit is holding up. That will also allow me to inspect the OEM linkage and see if I can find replacement bushings for it. If there is a $2 fix for these things it would be nice to know

If there's a $2 fix for these things, post up some good details & we can move it into the DIY section.

** update on UTOYOTA aftermarket linkage **

I received the linkage a few days ago, looks pretty sturdy. One issue -- the wiper arm shafts have a different thread pitch than the stock wiper linkage -- m10x1.5 instead of m10x1.25, I believe. Therefore I can't use the stock decorative black cap nuts on the new linkage ... and the UTOYOTA linkage comes only with regular nuts that are large and shiny yellow zinc -- rather unsightly.

So before I install the aftermarket linkage I am going to try to find m10x1.5 black cap nuts somewhere. I know it's only a cosmetic issue, but still annoying.

Thanks for letting us know; it'll be interesting to see how it works out once it's all done.
