EFI/ECM Fuse
 

Hi I have a 94 Accord Ex Coupe 2.2 Vtec 5spd, last Friday some a#$hole ran me off the road and I hit a concrete median with the underside of my car, as soon as i got stopped the check engine light came on so I immediately shut the car off and checked under the car no fluids were being lost so I restarted the car and everything was ok except for the check engine light, got to work and noticed an dent in the oil pan and the exhaust was flattened out a little in the bend from the engine compartment, I was driving home today and poof the car died got to the side of the road and the 15amp EFI/ECM fuse was blown only had a 3amp to replace it with but it restarted and I pulled off and got to 2nd gear and bam blown fuse again, pull the radio fuse out which is a 15amp and replaced and made it about another mile and bam blown again now as soon as I replace the fuse and turn the ingnition on the fuse blows, Any ideas of what could be causing this??? Without wiring drawing for '94 I'm guessing, but here goes...

The heater circuit for your O2 sensor is probably powered off that fuse? Say that wire was crushed or shorted along with the dented exhaust. Read the code, I'll guess it's 41 for a problem with the O2 sensor heater circuit.

If the ECU error code is something different, post it up here.

Yeah, I think that is the most likely wiring in that location that could have been damaged by that impact. Should be fairly easy to fix, maybe a little pricey if you have to replace the O2 sensor. There is a good chance that you can repair it though, maybe some solder and fusion tape.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Got under the car today and the top of the O2 sensor was crushed unplugged it from the harness and replaced the fuse and it is alive again. Will it hurt to run it with the O2 sensor unplugged until I can get a new one next week? Thanks again Earl

if your car was running in decent shape before the accident you shouldnt have anything other than a small decrease in gas mileage and maybe the check engine light on by having the O2 sensor unplugged.

Without the O2 sensor it should run rich, that's safer than running lean. You may notice worse gas mileage...
