end of the road

My 1998 Accord gave up the ghost today I was still riding the original clutch at 335,554 miles. Never had anything break but now it needs a clutch, timing belt is way over due, and needs half axle and boot. The junk yard will give me $250 and pick it up. Sadly I filled it up this morning. Howie the best was to recover the fuel?

There's a drain plug in the fuel tank (#60). Nobody ever uses it, so it might not open without damaging the tank. Since it's going to the scrapyard...?

Jim, that's for the 97 and earlier cars. No drain plug on the 98-02 cars, at least not on my 99 or my wife's 2000.
I'd disconnect the fuel line, and jump the fuel pump power circuit (wires) and pump it out with the electric pump.
