Engine oil pan slamming crossmember? 92 accord wagon - F22B1 engine

First off, I tried posting in a different forum but seems to not be going through after more than 24 hours. My first post went through fine but I wasn't able to start a thread about this issue there or post at all to my other thread. If this ends up being a double thread then I apologize. I understand how lame that is but I want to try to figure out the cause asap so I can get back to work. I'll close the other thread if it ever goes live. Oil Pan cracked slamming into crossmember - 1992 Accord LX Wagon with F22B1 Swap My questions: Which motor mount most likely is shot if the oil pan is hitting the crossmember? Or, is this unlikely and should I be looking at the frame/suspension? While trying to source parts for the exhaust I made my oil pan crack worse. I now know the crossmember is slamming into the oil pan, or the other way around. I went over a pretty rough pot hole so assuming something happened from that. However, the engine is pushing into the crossmember now even after gentle driving. I sprayed flex seal to stop it leaking all over, and then put on a flex seal patch. The patch seems to actually work as a decent emergency and is way better than the spray (which is crap) Suspension in the front is definitely worn out but it doesn't sound/feel shot. Jumping on the car front end I'm not bottoming out. I don't see forward movement if I push etc. The motor mounts however I know are shot. When I let go of the gas it slams hard. Like really hard. It is definitely the cause of the exhaust ripping through the flex pipe and loosening the manifold. When I cut out the flex pipe and had just the header/downpipe connected I was able to move the engine up and down with the exhaust pipe...pretty easily. I'm guessing that's pretty bad. I did replace the front torque mount as it was completely shot and right in front of my face. I'm on a shoe string budget so I ordered the other 3 motor mounts from ebay...hoping to get it soon but probably middle-to-end of next week. If I can find out it's one mount, or a temp solution so I can work this week that would be awesome. I have an oil pan pulled from JY to put on but I'm not going to drive with it until I fix the issue. Hard to tell if it's going forward. I'm guessing the mount at the transmission (passenger side?) and the one under the intake is most likely the culprit, however the engines hitting the crossmember on the drivers side so I'm not sure. Of course when they swapped the engine and put in a new resonator exhaust (really annoying with a leaking exhaust) they didn't bother with new mounts and destroyed everything. Any advice appreciated. Heres a shot of the oil pan. Its hard to tell if motor mounts are bad just by looking at pictures. Try shaking the engine and look for movement in all the motor mounts. I'd take a close look at the motor mount under the intake manifold to see if it is collapsed, because I'd think that would cause the most drop in the engine.

I ended up getting a new oil pan as the one from the junkyard was rusting on the inside from collected water. Just didn't feel right using it. I'll return it for credit later. Really a pain trying to find the right mounts since it's a 92 car with a 94 engine. Hoping I got it all correct. I'll post my results. |
So my mounts are arriving today so I started getting everything ready. First time I had a spot might I set the car I see now what the issue was. There is missing bolts fpr the engine to the chassis
