Engine 'revs' in high/fast acceleration
Did some searching and couldnt find the answer, or at least the right keyworks to get me there.
I usually drive pretty easy, today I accelerated very quickly to a highish rate of speed. From around 5 mph to 85ish mph, car acclererated fine as expected, however around 80-85 the engine begain to make a loud sound like it was reving up n down very fast- I let off accelerator and that was that. As stated below car is 1999 EX 2dr coupe. AT V6. I have the AEM V2, DC Sports Headers and Magnaflow dual exhaust. Any ideas? answers? Thanks! |

Did the check engine light turn on while it was acting up?
|
Hi guys- updates
I havent had a chance to mimic driving I did when 'issue' arose, so Im not sure if its a one-time deal or not. Funny thing about check engine light comment, the light actually had been on-for the first time in 4 years about 5 days before issue I wrote about happened. I check code as P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction bank 1 sensor 1 I reset code and light has not been on since, like I said, 5 days before issue. |
sounds like you may have been bumping the rev limiter
|
Im leaning in that general direction- however I dont know much about it, but after experiencing it-hearing similar sound in youtube videos and seeing it in writing in your reply seems to make the most sense. Ill be doing more research on rev limiter. Thanks again all!
