The one eyed tech says "it's low on coolant"
The two eyed tech says "why is it low on coolant?"
I agree with the 2 eyed tech,, pressure test the cooling system and if you find a leak fix it first.. add coolant and bleed the system,, it might be the solution to your problems

Sorry to jack this thread;
That's not thread jacking that's just good advice and follow-up to my poor description *L* I prefer to do it with the car running since that's the way I've always done it *L* the right way/safe way? that would be the way you described it.... I'm used to working outside in the cold so any chance I have to do something with the car running I take... a little heat goes a long way!

ok, well im going to do this tommrow cuz its incredibly cold out rightnow. i was wondering how dangerous is driving, cuz i had work today wh ich was l ike 25 minuts of driving and school and back 5 minuts.

is it like imperative that if fix this before driving because some major problem can occure or is it not that bad? and i can still afford to drive here and there.

also with that IACV valve and tstart? how do i check that? what is even a tstart?

ok well i opened the bleed screw and a like 3 seconds later coland came out, i let like a cups worth come out but it didnt really lower in the radiator itself. So i just closed it and added some into the bucket cuz it sucked up some of the previous coolant i had.

now this means there is no air in there now right? and it didnt seem like there was much air in the first place if it came out that fast.

edit:

also to note: i dont think there is a leak, ive never spotted anything dripping out of the car, even now all mornning its been right out front and ive kept watch on the pavement and its clean. so this means it must be burning anti freeze possibly not leaking it...just a thought.

im off to work hope it doesnt break totaly on me

When you think all the air is gone, you can check it when the engine's cold. Squeeze each radiator hose. If there's air you can hear sloshing noises. It feels different too, & you should only hear the little rattle-pin in the thermostat.

the fact that there was air in there means that was one problem you had.... is the car still overheating at all? are you still mysteriously loosing coolant? Have you checked your oil lately to make sure that it's not milky colored (indicates anti-freeze mixed with it I.E. bad head gasket).... That bit of air that was in there makes quite a bit of difference so it's good that you got it out...

And the two eyed tech thing, I agree completly but sometimes I have an eye patch.... *L*
