Engine Won't start

1989 Honda Accord LX 2bbl carb

I was driving down the highway when my car started to lose power, a little shutter, and died while driving. I tried cranking but nothing. No clicking or sounds at all. I change the plugs, fuel filter, wires, ignition already before the incident. I recently brought an starter but still nothing. I think it is mechanical problem because all of the electrical is good. It is like the engine is lockup and wont do nothing. Someone suggested that the oil pump or oil blockage is causing the problem. If you have any suggestions, I would be very appreciated for helping.

what do you mean by all the electrical is good? if you turn the key and absolutely nothing happens, i'd bet on an electrical issue. ignition, battery, alternator, etc..

The battery is the first thing that I would test. Hook up jumper cables to see if you can get the engine to crank. Also check that all ends of both battery cables are clean and secure. Check the cable that goes from the alternator to the battery as well.

Alternatively, If you have another car, pull the battery and take it to autozone to have it tested.

I check the alternator, battery, igniton already. They been check and tested that they work. What engine or mechanical problem could cause this?

if you are sure that all the electrical is good you might want to chk the timing belt ,,,,,,,,,,,but if there is no clicking or sound it could also be the ignition switch..or a blown main fuse,, .....do the dash lite lite up when you turn the key on ??
