Factory Wiring Connector

I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX.

I was told that my car has a FACTORY wiring connector to hook up the wiring for a trailer hitch.

I was told that it is in the trunk, but I cannot find it.

Does anyone KNOW if my car actually has this connector and EXACTLY where it is?

Thank you.

The 6P blue trailer lighting harness connector is located behind the left garnish by the taillight access door in the trunk (left side of trunk, top rear corner).

Thank you---BUT---

what is a GARNISH ?

I have never heard this term in a vehicle discussion.

Do I have to pull up any of the carpet?

This connector is used to hook up the wiring when pulling a trailer, right?

Is it a flat or round connector?

Thanks again.

A garnish is just a trim piece. Honda uses that term regularly in their parts descriptions.

The trailer lighting connector is rectangular. I will only briefly post the image.

OK--I went out to my car and removed the tail light access door (on the left side)
Behind that door, there is only the wires for the tail light--
there is no 6P wiring connector.

So where is it EXACTLY?

What do I have to remove in order to find it?

Thank you.

I previously posted this image in my last post and removed it. I will posted again for a short period.

You have to remove the garnish panel next to the taillight access door.

Thank you.

That clears everything up.

Have a nice week!

Factory Wiring Connector

OK---I found it!

It was actually on top of the tail light wiring, but taped up.

It is a small blue connector and multi-pin connector.

Does this connector have another designation besides "6P" ?

Obviously I need the other "half" of this connector in order to hook up the wiring for a trailer hitch.

Where would be the best place to get the other part of the connector?

Thank you.

Refer to the information in the image I posted in post #4. The dealership may or may not carry the corresponding harness connector anymore, since so many years has past for a 1992 Accord. It is referred to as a trailer lighting connector; 6P is a generic reference to a connector have 6 cavity/terminals.

If the dealership doesn't have the harness connector anymore, you would just use aftermarket trailer light connector and splice the wiring based on the image in post #4.
