Fuel Spraying from PCV Filter
 

I have a Carbureted 1986 Honda Accord LX. I have been struggling with an overrich condition which would flood-out the engine after about 30 seconds. Today I finally made a breakthrough and was able to run the car for 5 minutes at 4500 RPM. It still ran rich but not so rich as to kill the engine. So... after I made my way through the rich exhaust smoke which filled my garage, I noticed a puddle of liquid in the base of my air cleaner just in front of the PCV filter. I thought at first it was oil (have seen that MANY times) but upon close inspection, I discovered that it was clear. As I watched while the engine ran, I saw that gas was spurting out of the fPCV filter and pooling just in front of the filter in a little recess in the base of the air cleaner. I immediately shut off the engine and signed up for this forum, hoping that someone smarter than I might know how fuel has made its way into the PCV circuit.
