Hardwire !?!?

I just got a Whistler pro 73 radar detc. and am looking into hardwireing it so i can hide the wire and not have the stupud thing going to the power outlet. Does anyone know how to do this ??

Thanks

open the drivers side fuse panel and you should find, unused connectors/ spade lugs. One of them should have power onlywhen the ignition switch is on.
Then youcan tuck the wire behind the pillar molding and bring it up to the visor area.
Radar waves grow in strength from the ground up, so the higher the detector unit the better.

So which one do I tie into for the hardwire?

look at the red circle, is that an empty slot? if so test it with the igntion off and with the igntion on, if no power with ignition off but 12v with ignition on then I'd use that one....

test that open space and one side of it should have no power (with the fuse out) and one side should have power, of those two wires you are holding do they both have to be hot? If so then splice them together a ways back from the end and use the spade (flat/squre) looking end and insert it in next to the fuse (put a fuse in) on the side that was normally dead, this way you have created a fused 12v link

Option 2: (the more professional way) locate the wire coming off the side that doesn't normally have power, splice those two wires into it and put in a fuse...

Make sense?

Yah it does.. thanks alot ! I got it .. ended up going onto the passenger side and using a fuse already inuse.. stripped the spade to the wire and twisted the wire around the fuse. Then i put the fuse back in with the wire around it.. used the U shaped end and grounded it.. Then i turned it on and had power.. Thanks alot i really appriciate it !!
