HDS Anyone?

I am about to do the first automatic transmission drain and fill on my 2012 Accord LX. I don't have any Maintenance Minder notification yet. I was wondering if anyone has purchased one of the Honda Diagnostic Systems for resetting the MM. Otherwise, what to do when the MM notification does pop up when the computer thinks it's time to perform various jobs that may have already been done?

Check owner's manual for guidance. This should be covered. It's just a mileage sequence on earlier models, assume same for 2012.

good luck

Starting about 2006 or so, its not just mileage. It's based on driving habits, how many starts, temperatures, stuff like that. So you don't have to figure out whether you're "normal" or "severe" or somewhere between.

The procedure for resetting it is in the owner's manual. You don't need the HDS or anything.

Yes, I was aware of the "driving conditions input". Funny though it always comes out near mileage of 7500, but maybe I'm just a skeptic.

good luck

My daughters both have 2007 Civics and their different driving habits result in different oil-change intervals. So maybe it's not severe, but it seems to do something. Had a pretty long interval when we took that car to the Carolinas & around on vacation - lots of pure highway miles.
