Helllpppp 2 transmissions and problem still here
 

Ok im helping out a friend, no idea what to search for. I have tried searching but to no avail. I have swapped out 2 transmissions. 99 accord 4 banger with automatic. It does not have a flashing light in d4. I have swapped the shift solenoids out of both transmissions. SO im guessing the problem lies there. When you put the car in d4, it will not go into first gear. But if you manual down to 1, first gear is there and you just have to drive like a manual. all 3 trannies have did this. Im a standard transmission guy so any help here would be great. I can swap parts and transmissions but im at a loss on this one.

I kind of remember a Honda article regarding flushing the ATF cooler and lines when replacing the transmission, as there may be debris and metal particles from there that may cause shift malfunctions/problems on the replacement transmission.

did this both times, as well as a 3x3 flush just to work the old fluid out of the converters

but also thinking off top of my head. wouldn't that cause a direct continuous problem? why shift just fine if you manual shift from first all the way up to d4
